Welcome to County Funerals

Independent. Family-run. One of a kind.

Founded by Grant Pinney and Amelia Stoker in 2017, County Funerals is a proudly family-owned and fully independent funeral service with over 50 years of combined experience in supporting families through loss.

We believe every goodbye should be as unique as the life lived. Whether you’re looking for a simple direct cremation or a full traditional service, we bring the same care, dedication and love to every funeral we arrange.

Our team specialises in creating bespoke, meaningful farewells that reflect the personality, values and story of your loved one — from modern celebrations to deeply personal moments of remembrance. No two people are the same, and we believe no two funerals should be either.

Serving families across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire, we’re here to help you say goodbye your way— with compassion, creativity, and complete support.

Traditional Funeral

Not that long ago, there was only one type of funeral readily available in the UK which revolved around one Christian tradition or another. These traditions were often focused on a religious service followed by a burial. Nowadays, there are far more options available and cremation is the more popular option.

Although many funeral services in the UK are still traditional, faith-based services  there are humanist and multi-faith options available too  there is also a move towards traditional funerals apart from religious services or affiliation.

Direct Cremation

If your loved one has decided to be cremated, it’s important that you know you’re not limited to how you can honour their life. Cremation offers just as many – if not more – options for friends and family to honour and celebrate their loved one’s life. Holding a funeral or memorial service in a place that held value within their life, whether it be at home or in a chapel are some of the options available for cremation.
